Blessings.... Isaiah 30:18 Blessed are all who wait for him!

So frequently we hear people say either in words or in e-mails, blessings or blessings in Jesus. I want to ask you what does it really mean to be a blessing. Is it just by our kindness and compassion towards one another, or is it more?
The only way we can know what blessings are, or who is blessed or how to be a blessing or how to be truly blessed is to look at the Bible and what God says.

Isaiah 30:18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Consider the Sermon on the Mount. Mathew 5, When Jesus was speaking to the crowds and teaching them all the ways they can be BLESSED. If we live accordingly to his example we might understand how to really be blessed.

Biblically being blessed is completely opposite than the world's view of being blessed.
In fact many people I know, consider their children a blessing. Not so is the world's thought.

Children are a gift and a blessing from God.
Proverbs 20:7 The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. And Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her;

Lets ask ourselves, do we actually consider waiting on God as a blessing. Think of the things you have either just recently prayed for or in the past have prayed for. What are currently waiting for? Hoping to see how God will answer that prayer request. I know personally I pray from my heart and hope that what I ask may be done.

As with the verse in Mathew 21:21-22 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was don to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, Go throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Praying for others is a blessing to me. Knowing that I may be helping them out by just communicating to my LORD on their behalf, that blesses me. I know that their are many around me who are hurting either outside or inside. Sometimes it makes one feel helpless as to how to assist those in need around us. The best way to be of the most help for those is to just offer up a prayer on their behalf. Believing that God will answer, and not worrying about how he will answer. After all he is God and HE knows best.

That is where the waiting comes in. We pray or follow God in hope of hearing or seeing him answer us. The thing is the wait can be longer than we expect. If the wait is too long will that dishearten us. No matter what the answer or the wait is, we need to be patient and thankful for everything God allows to happen to us.

Above all life is a blessing and we should be diligently sharing it with others and in many ways. The best gift any of us have been given is the Gift of eternal Life through Jesus our LORD.

My prayer and hope is that everyone will be blessed by just being a blessing to others. Try it today, take a moment and pray for someone else or a need for someone you know. You will find after praying for others how much you are encouraged in your spirit and feel like a blessing.
