De clutter my house - give away things of no longer using.
Get Organized- know where things are.
Be a better BLOGGER- make brief but daily if not several weekly posts.
Exercising more Fruits of the Spirit- being more loving, joyous, peaceful, patient, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.
Being more punctual and less procrastinating.
Having a year of daily living God's Truth of his Word and encouraging others to do the same.
Looking forward to having an awesome year trusting on Jesus and faithfully serving and following his word.
Excited and pleased to share our wonderful news of Life. God has blessed our family with another new little one due in middle June 2009. We are delighted and over joyed. (Me especially since my last 5 children have been born in late fall or winter.) Looking forward to having an early summer baby and being able to walk and enjoy the weather with all 7 children.(Being from Alaska with temps currently as low as -15 to -20 degree's, summer looks rather inviting.)

God's Amazing Grace.
It is so wonderful to see God's truths revealed in our children. A while back my children were taught and learned that God NEVER makes mistakes. I feel so blessed to see my children learning and remembering the truths that we are teaching them daily about God. I know that those truths we teach them will be what they use to shape their lives. I am so glad that I have his Word to use to supply them with the tools and truths that they will need to serve and please Him.
I am so thankful to the Lord for his unconditional forgiveness. I know that even as a parent, I still make mistakes. I find comfort in knowing our parent God doesn't. We can trust and rely on his wisdom and guidance. The peace and joy that fills my heart and mind knowing how Great a God we serve. It is so comforting to see how God loves us and shows us his trust by blessing our homes with children to teach and instruct into his Way.
I read from Acts 10 today to my children. It was about Cornelius and Peter. Also how God does not show favoritism. How God wants us to live by his word and share it with those who are interested, without hesitation b/c of what we may think about them. God may have placed us in the situation we are in to serve the right purpose, His purpose. I believe God causes situations and circumstances to rise up for us to participate in his will and purpose. After all, that is why we have been created and chosen to serve God and his will just as Jesus did. Exactly why God has blessed us with children to teach and instruct them to serve him and be steadfast in obeying him and his word.
34. And opening his mouth, Peter said:
"I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
35. but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right, is welcome to Him.
36. "The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)
Here is one verse I am going to add to my memorization list. Quite similar to Romans 10:9-10, but easier to remember. I even think my children could learn it.
I just love putting God's word in my mind and heart. It is like a spiritual first aid kit, when we need repair we use his word to heal the wounded areas in us.
43. "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."
This is the start of a new month and new habits and routine, so quite possibly a new me! Praise the Lord for second chances and the opportunity to be able to change and become more like him and how He wants us to live. God's Grace amazes me. I see everyday and frequently more so how much Grace he showers on each of us. I am blessed and in awe to be at the receiving end of so much Grace. Thank you Lord for your unconditional love, forgiveness and grace.

Praising the Lord for Everyday Blessings.
(I just want to apologize for taking such a long break. A mom's job is never completely done even though the day comes to an end. Many things to do and time just seems to fly by. So sorry for the 3 + weeks of quite. I am back and will try to be more active in staying connected.)
Well through the last several weeks I have managed to become quite a bit more organized and am concentrating more on feasting on God's word. Not just reading but hearing and quoting memorized scriptures. Scripture planted in the brain and in the heart really become useful when everyday struggles and demands require some much needed encouragement.
Realizing the power that scripture has due to applying it to our everyday existence. Finding that there is nothing scripture can't support and encourage by seeking and believing in God and what his word has to say on every subject and detail of our everyday lives. I just recently uncovered some interesting truths through just that, reading God's word.
I was looking over a passage in 1 Kings when I glanced over at a biography of King Ahaz on the opposite page. In it is detailed that Ahaz was a powerful military strategist and marries an evil women named Jezebel who forces the inhabitants of the land to worship Baal. It goes on to mention that Ahaz was depressed over the fact that he couldn't get his way with Naboth's vineyard. I realized that not only is depression from the Devil but that it is due to selfishness and the desire to please oneself. If for some reason that one is unable to have their way then depression takes root. The only way we can prevent depression is to not focus on the negatives in our lives and our selves but on others. If we focus on others and how we can make a difference in their lives than we will be much happier and joyful.
I have recently under took an interesting task and role. With out giving too much detail, I was asked by a friend if I would consider to do something. I prayed and read my bible and talk over the idea with my dh. After several days we both felt the Lord guiding us to accept the offer. This has been our first week of trial and adjustment. So far it has been a tremendous blessing.
Something I realized, what is truly important and needed in decision making. Taking time everyday and many many many times out of the day to pray and seek the Lord for guidance and truth and trust that whatever is done and whatever the outcome may be, God will recieve the Honor and Glory for everything everyday.
Make every effort today to seek the Lord and search his Word for truths and guidance in how he desires to work in and through you today and everyday.
Praising the Lord today and everyday for the opportunities he gives me to show forth his love and give him the honor and glory for the victories and triumphs he bestows on us.
My verse for today is Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "But the righteous man shall live by faith."

Happy Easter (Belated).
I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter. We certainly did, although it was a very busy day. What a wonderful celebration of Life of Christ and especially the Life we have in him since he conquered the grave.
Here are a few things we did with our sons this weekend to teach them about Jesus and to prepare them for the Resurrection Celebration. I had a wonderful time with my sons Friday night making Resurrection Cookies. Not the tastiest cookies but the process was quite interesting and spiritually informative. (I will post that recipe, unless you are momys with a cookbook and you can find it under the cookie section.) This was a great way to incorporate scripture and baking to emphasize the arrest, trial, death and resurrection of Jesus. With the addition of each ingredient you read a corresponding scripture and then ending up with the cookies in the oven, turning off the temp. and leaving them in the oven overnight with duct tape on the sides of the oven symbolizing that the tomb was sealed shut. If you want a new Easter tradition to do with the children, that doesn't involve the coloring of Easter Eggs and the Easter Bunny than this is recipe is for you. (I even got my 2yr old daughter to participate.)
Well this weekend has been a tiring one. So I apologize for not keeping up with the posts. I will try to get plenty of sleep and keep up better this following week.
I had a great talk today with a sweet person today. I find myself in a comfortable yet not so new position. With out to much detail, I have some similar issues in common with this sweet person. B/c I am a bit older and wiser due to my experiences dealing with these issues, I was able to offer a helpful insight. I know what I was saying hit home b/c the tears were present. What I was encouraging her to do was very sensitive yet also very beneficial. It really touched me to know that what I was offering her to do was just what I am trying to do myself. I think though it is much harder for this sweet person to learn and do simply b/c she doesn't have the support at home. I really think God gives us our trials and situations so that we can help encourage and support others either just beginning the journey we are one and half way through.
God is so good. He knows the best way we can understand healing is by helping others and get our minds off our own problems and offer sound advice to to those who are looking for some.
Well a few prayer concerns, my fil is flying out this week for six weeks he will be in OHIO, our car is looking like it needs some repairs, and this sweet person who needs to find and rest in the joy and peace of Jesus.

Awesome Movie!
Wow. I just watched a wonderful family movie that is just fabulous. It is another Fox Faith family movie, which was directed by Michael Landon Jr. What a powerful movie and such touching biblical overtones. The movie in reference is, "The Last Sin Eater". If you haven't seen it please try b/c you will not be disappointed. This movie has it all; mystery, love, betrayal, history, forgiveness and truth. The message of this movie is so powerful, that it just stays in your brain with many after thoughts. I am so glad my dh encouraged me to watch it.
I just have to share the tag line; this movie is about redemption and the only one capable of giving us true redemption is Jesus Christ. I have to share just a little part of a scene from this movie. In the middle or so the main character, a young girl, is in a cave talking to the other main character, a man. She shares an idea with him that is a bit saddening to him . If it is true what she says, then the last 20 yrs of his life was wasted and lived in vain. The sad thing was that he didn't want to believe, but if he did believe IT would change his life completely.I thought this to be so powerful, considering most people live their lives in vain and wasted on things that truely don't matter. If they could only believe in Jesus how their lives would change completely.
I don't want to discuss too much as to spoil those who haven't seen it. I have not seen a movie as wonderfully touching spiritually speaking, as this one did. I am amazed I even watched it considering I hardly watch any movies. Usually one in a great while. I enjoyed this movie so much that I am going to seek after the book. I would have to imagine that the book is either close to or better than the movie.
Just another reason why Christian families should support the Fox Faith Ministries. When we hear of movies coming out from their production company we should check them out and tell many others to do the same. It is sad that there aren't many other venues like this one. So if we want to encourage them to make more we need to support the ones already existing.

Discipline good for the mind, body and spirit.
Before I go much farther, let's look at the word discipline and see what the dictionary defines it as.
Discipline-1) a branch of knowledge or learning;2) a training that develops self control, character, or orderliness and efficiency;3) strict control to force obedience; the result of such training or control; b) specifically self control or orderly conduct also the acceptance of or submission to authority and control;4) a system of rules, as with a church;5) treatment that corrects or punishes.
Well lately in the last 3 weeks or so, I have been working on becoming more disciplined in many areas of my life. Discipline isn't any easy thing to have nor is it easy to give. Especially if we are giving ourselves a big dose of it. It is pretty easy to be lazy and lacking discipline in our activity, diet, behaviors, and daily routines. I am not sure what the exact culprit is but I would bet laziness hands down. No more laziness here. I know I need discipline and I am gonna try hard to get it and make it a part of every aspect of my life.
Well I have decided last month that I would be disciplined and committed to reading my bible daily and involving the children (the only way I knew how to do it without interruptions). Well it has been well over a month and I am still going strong. Praise the Lord! I have been really enjoying our bible time and even the children are getting use to it. I need to be more diligent in having it right after breakfast. Knowing that reading God's word at the start of the day can actually make your day a lot more joyful, peaceful and all around positive. Think of it has spending every morning in conversation and communication with your best friend. Wouldn't that put a smile on your face everyday.
Over two weeks ago my dh and I have begun our exercise routine together. I will admit it has been a bit out of order, but none the less it has been done everyday. Although my dh doesn't really need the weight lifting since he lifts boxes for 4 hours every morning. He still kindly works out with me so I am not feeling alone. I think that is the worst part about exercising, not having a partner to keep you accountable. It is not my sole goal or intent for us to loose weight, although that would make me and dh even happier, but rather to gain strength and become more fit to play with the children. I don't want my exercise to be about vanity. That is far too common in the world today. But rather give my body the discipline it needs to get into and stay in healthy shape. Eating right and drinking lots of water is also apart of making better choices and lifestyle changes that produce a healthy active fit person.
I have been also trying to get my mind more discipline and reading more helpful books that will encourage a healthy mind. I am also staying more mentally active with my sons and with different kinds of games and activities that help challenge and strengthen the memory and skill.
It is really encouraging to have my sons support my discipline of my mind, body and spirit. They love to join in on what ever we are doing, without even knowin it is shaping all of us into more disciplined people.

32. He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, but he who heeds reproof gets understanding.
Proverbs 23:13
13. Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
Hebrews 12:5-6
5. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6. For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.''
Revelation 3:19
19. "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
I hope this may encourage all who read to look at their life and see if discipline is lacking in some area. If so, to be humble enough to let the Lord work within you to create a more self-controlled individual that he can use in a mighty way!

Movie Review and Scripture thought.
If you are like me and usually only watch movies especially those you know will have good morale content, then here is a movie you will enjoy. It is called, "Saving Sarah Cain". It is directed by Michael Landon Jr. and is based on a book by Beverly Lewis. It is a story about a young woman who's sister dies and she is the only living relative to or aunt to 5 amish children. It is a beautiful story of how their lives inner twine. If you are at all familiar with the Fox Faith movies, this is one of those movies. (Fox films has a branch of movies geared toward the religiously minded audiences and or those who would like to enjoy a movie with good morale overtones and positive message of faith, hope and love.) Michael Landon Jr. has a major role in directing and occasionally producing these wonderful alternative movies. If you haven't heard of these movies or are interested in seeing what else they have to offer just google fox faith films. You will find that there is lot of options to choose from for the whole family.
Here is a passage out of Luke 15: 3-32 that I have just recently read to the children. It always gets to me though when I think about the second parable and the older brother.
3. So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
4. "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
5. "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6. "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, `Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!'
7. "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

I absolutely love this parable. I know that it is a difficult one for many to understand. I have had the pleasure to study this and hear a Christian college professor's thoughts on this very parable. I think though that for many of us we can see the older brother's side better or easier.
I have to interrupt with a story from my teen days. I was talking with the father of young boy in a youth group that I happened to be visiting with. We were discussing one another's testimonies. (One post of which I have yet to write.) After hearing how he faced many struggles and finally found the Lord and gave his life over to God as a servant and follower of Christ, I was deeply moved. I told him how wonderful a testimony he had and how it was awesome that God saved him out of all he had been involved in, abandoned after his parents died and then taken in by his sister and her boyfriend, and then later being involved in drugs and alcohol. I just saw his testimony as a power work of God. Then I shared my "boring" testimony with him about how I was raised in the church have pretty much followed the right path b/c from early on I was taught and encouraged to do so. He was deeply moved by my testimony and thought how wonderful it was that God saved me from all of what I could have gotten into. Instead he spared or protected me from having to have a "hard life". I always thought how interesting it was that both of us were intrigued with one another's testimonies. I have always appreciate his view on my testimony and thanks to him I have been more grateful to God for giving me a testimony that also shows God amazing power.
I wanted to say that, in reference to the parable and how the younger brother got in so much trouble living a wild life and then being welcomed back home by his father, who was overjoyed to see his son who was gone and in his mind dead and now he was returning and alive. Then also, how the older brother felt when he had been dependable and trustworthy for the father and serving him. All the while the younger brother lived foolishly and returned home to find his father eagerly waiting and willing to throw him a party. I can truly understand the older brother's perspective on the whole loyalty aspect. However- what we fail to see is the jealousy and haughtiness of the older brother. I know that it isn't easy feeling overlooked or unfavored b/c of situations out of your control. I certainly can feel for his need to be approved and affirmed. Which he was actually getting all the while with his father's constant involvement in his daily life.
Later in the day after reading this parable to my son's, my dh gladly put on one of the newest Veggie tales movie, " The land of Haas". (A parody of "The wizard of Oz".) In it was a cleaver story that basically depicts the whole Prodigal son parable. It was great how letting the boys watch that video reinforced what I had read to them earlier.
I always have a struggle with this parable b/c I know what it is like to not feel liked or even favored and especially when in our hearts we feel it was unjust treatment. No matter though how we are treated or how others are rewarded, we should always be happy for others and their success especially when they have been given and received a true gift of Life.
I definitely don't want to be like that older brother. I may be able to understand his feelings, but I would be up for a party for anyone who's life was changed. Simply b/c their father welcomed them after admitting and humbly returning to be a servant. Isn't that though, how each one of us have been to God and Jesus. Substituting God for the father and Jesus as the older brother, (without the attitude). We are the younger brother who comes back after living a vile life not worthy of being called sons and daughters, but instead servants. Thankfully though being welcomed and attending a banquet feast in our honor.
God is so good! Praise the Lord for he has done great things.....Thank you God for being our Father, you are wonderful beyond words.
Here is a passage out of Luke 15: 3-32 that I have just recently read to the children. It always gets to me though when I think about the second parable and the older brother.

Gray Hair, and being a Red Head and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
First off since I have been in the book of Proverbs, I have noticed many verses that refer to gray hair as being righteous or for the wise. So I will cease to be looking for the litttle shiny things when I brush my hair. Which from the help of my dh I found out some interesting things about red heads.( Things he learned by researching red haired people on the internet.) Of course if it is not already obvious that I have red hair, then let me take a moment to share my red hair history.
I was born the 3rd of three daughters and although both of my other sisters have red highlights, I was born the light red hair. For the first 2 yrs of life I had hardly any hair to speak of. Not long after a little grew in a lot more grew in and then the light started getting dark and lighter that I became more of a very noticeable redhead. I of course had the freckles and fair skin to boot. So no dye job here. Plus if those weren't obvious signs of my naturalness, just either stay around when I got mad or better yet make me mad and see yif that hot as my hair temper really existed! I hated my hair due to the jokes and teasing I received at school. Although I was a bit perplexed since all of the stranger adults at the grocery store and every where else always complimented me on my beauty and in my own mind I thought tell the kids at school how beautiful I am.
It wasn't till High School that I was comfortable with being a redhead. I realized I had to accept who I was and how God made me. After all God doesn't make mistakes and I should be pleased to know that not only did God give me red hair, but he has every one of my hairs counted! WOW! That just blows my mind. ( I shared that with my boys this last week, it was one of the verses in Luke that we covered in our reading.)
Pretty much ever since then I have been sought after b/c of my distinctive red hair. Boys wanted to date me b/c of the red hair, and every time my hair was cut the stylist would compliment me on my natural color and reply,"this is the color that is in high demand." All the while I am thanking God for making me just as he did.
Now I just hope that maybe one or both of my daughters will be blessed as I have with this very rare and distinctive hair color.
Here are some of the red haired facts dh found. (Boy was he having fun reading and laughing at his findings. Just having a ball learning about the history of red heads.)
Red heads are more prominent in Scotland and about 10% in Ireland.
Red head slaves in Egyptian days were sold for twice as much.
The thought that red heads made powerful witches and had magical powers, which lead them to being burnt at the stake more often.
B/c red hair is a recessive trait and is next to the freckle gene it is more likely that a red head will have freckles.
Red heads are suppose to have a hight pain threshold, in some studies it was revealed that red heads need about 20% more anesthesia for surgeries due to their possibility of feeling the pain?( That one left me bewildered.)
Through thorough research and study, the red haired gene is supposedly linked to African Ancestors. (I actually have Irish, Scottish, and some Itialian genes in me.)
Of course the obvious fact about red heads is that they are rare. You could possibly even say they are a dime a dozen. Not as common as a blonde or a brunette.
Red heads are stung more often than any other hair colored persons. (Possibly due to the brightness of their hair attracts the bees, like bright colored flowers.
Red heads don't go gray, they go white. (My favorite fact of all.) I guess the red hair just in a quick time frame goes all white and not gray's peaking here or there.
I especially hated being a red head when I was young, primarily due to the awful teasing. I was called carrot top, and big red and worse of all "red headed woodpecker".
Plus especially on days like today where Green is the color of choice for those who take part in Celebrating St. Patrick's Day. As for us red heads, we look great in almost any shade of green possible. (Green happens to be my favorite color.)
So Happy St. Patrick's Day for those who like to honor a man of noble character and righteousness, who made a conscious effort to share the Word with many unbelievers.

The power and wisdom of the Proverbs. (Part 2)
Today in our bible reading we read Luke 11 & 12 and Proverbs 20. Even though we may have read these same passages many times over, and many years ago it is always refreshing to see how God's word never changes and seems to be just what we need it be in our present situation. It is so good to know that no matter what struggle we face we have the power of God's word to stand on, to defend ourselves with and to cling to when all around us foundations crumble. God's word will never fall or fail to guide us. It is only when we fail to use it or rely on it's power for strengthening our lives and spirits.
Proverbs 11 : 25 & 30
25. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.
30. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
Proverbs 12 : 25-28
25. Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.
26. The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27. The slothful man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man's precious possession.
28. In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.
Proverbs 13: 20-25
20. He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.
21. Evil pursues sinners, but to the righteous, good shall be repaid.
22. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
23. Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor, and for lack of justice there is waste.
24. He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.
25. The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

1. Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
2. He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, but he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.

27. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to avoid the snares of death.
Proverbs 15:1-3
1. A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.
3. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
Proverbs 16:7-9 & 31-33
7. When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8. Better is a little with righteousness, than vast revenues without justice.
9. A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps
31. The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness.
32. He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
33. The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.
Proverbs 17:3 & 6
3. The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the hearts.
6. Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father.
Proverbs18: 19-24
19. A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle.
20. A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth, and from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
22. He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.
23. The poor man uses entreaties, but the rich answers roughly.
24. A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 19: 16-22
16. He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is careless of his ways will die.
17. He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given.
18. Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not set your heart on his destruction.
19. A man of great wrath will suffer punishment; for if you deliver him, you will have to do it again.
20. Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days.
21. There are many plans in a man's heart, Nevertheless the Lord's counsel that will stand.
22. What is desired in a man is kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.
Proverbs 20:27-30
27. The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.
28. Mercy and truth preserve the king, and by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.
29. The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is their gray head.
30. Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, as do stripes the inner depths of the heart.
I have just highlighted verses that really spoke to my heart.
I hope you are in a habit of reading God's word daily. If you aren't, try to add a little bit of God's word into your day and make it a habit. You will see how much more energy and peace you have in your physical body.
The absolute power of the Word is so amazing. I feel so renewed and energetic when I make time to allow God to speak to me. I appreciate his correction.
If you think about it the Bible is the Best Self Help Book ever written.
We all know those kinds of books, how to conquer any ailment you might have is all in the book.
Plus the disclaimer, God never fails, nothing is impossible with God, Us + God equals the righteous majority.

P.S. Not to sound vain, but for awhile I had been greatly concerned about seeing a few gray hairs. Not to worry now, those grays are good, at least that is according to God's word. I just love reading new thoughts that may not have applied to my life the last time I read that passage, but now is sooo applicable.

Proverbs18: 19-24
19. A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle.
20. A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth, and from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
22. He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.

I have just highlighted verses that really spoke to my heart.
I hope you are in a habit of reading God's word daily. If you aren't, try to add a little bit of God's word into your day and make it a habit. You will see how much more energy and peace you have in your physical body.
The absolute power of the Word is so amazing. I feel so renewed and energetic when I make time to allow God to speak to me. I appreciate his correction.
If you think about it the Bible is the Best Self Help Book ever written.
We all know those kinds of books, how to conquer any ailment you might have is all in the book.
Plus the disclaimer, God never fails, nothing is impossible with God, Us + God equals the righteous majority.

P.S. Not to sound vain, but for awhile I had been greatly concerned about seeing a few gray hairs. Not to worry now, those grays are good, at least that is according to God's word. The power and wisdom of the Proverbs. (Part 1)
Well in our daily reading we are in Luke 12 and Proverbs 19. I just wanted to share a few key thoughts that are pro founding and chalked full of God's wisdom. (Most of these were strongly touching and convicting to my heart.)
Proverbs 1:7
7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 2 :10-12
10. When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11. discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you,
12. to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things,
Proverbs 3:5-10
5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6. in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
7. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
9. Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10. so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
Proverbs 4;20-22
20. My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.

I hope you find these just as inspiring as I did. I know that as we read so many verses just speak directly to my heart. If when I read it the first time and it strikes me as applicable to my life or to my children's lives then I go ahead and read it twice or sometimes three times.
I am so glad that God's word is alive and breathing life into us as we read it. No other book can compare to it. God's word is so challenging and corrective that it gives us the complete joy of knowing how it is having it's affect on our lives. If we read something that we needed to hear chances are it wasn't by mistake that we read it...
Glad to know there are no coincidences, luck or chance when reading God's word. Every person who reads will find something in it that will ultimately change his/her life. That is how God designed it and that is exactly what Jesus is all about.

Years ago my dh and I were watching a Christian movie, "Joshua". Maybe you have seen it too. Heavy Heart.
Have you ever had a burden on your heart that seemed so difficult to let go of? Here are a few thoughts that I have concerning my burden, which I have labeled as my "Heavy Heart".
This has not been any easy post for me to write.
A year ago my parents became legally divorced. (I say this from my perspective of what I believe the Bible says to be true, in Mathew 19:6 "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.") My parents were married for 38 yrs. My mom was the one who pursued the divorce. It has been very tough for my dad to handle. A complete life change and at his age, one that he was not willing or wanting to expect. My mom on the other hand has adapted quite well. She is living a life that she is very pleased with. A life without spousal restrictions, where she is in complete control of what she does. Only herself, my sister and some friends to keep her accountable. Although the changes in her life seem to make her appear happier and quite possibly she is, but we learn through Paul's writings that we should be content "No matter" our circumstances. This thought came from a man who spent many nights in a jail cell and probably praising God all the while.
Although I have to admit it is not easy being in situations that challenge your very nature. It is through those challenges though, that we are able to see the merciful hand of God who seems to walk (or even carry at times) us through. I believe God allows those challenges for us to see how amazing and magnificent he is and can be if we only rely on HIM...
Many of us have either heard or know of families that have been divided due to a divorce. It is true about how children bear the weight and burden of the split. Emotionally children have attachment issues and such. Very rarely do we hear about the spiritual concerns. The most common concern is the higher rate of divorce among children of divorced couples. Although the rate of divorce is already high in the church as much so as it is outside the church. Why is that you might say? Primarily due to the lack of living out the word in their daily lives. The hardest thing to understand about divorce is that the two people who love us for some reason can't seem to love each other. The other sad thing about divorce is what it teaches children. Forgiveness isn't important in relationships, just allow bitterness to have it's way and if life gets to hard just give up and forget to have faith in God. With attitudes like that it is easy for children to question how powerful is God anyway. If we can trust Him to heal our broken marriages or anything else for that matter, than how can we trust him to keep his word and return for us someday.
I am like no other child who's parents have been divorced. Even after a year it is still not easy to get use to. I feel stuck at times. Stuck like in between a rock and a hard place. I am close to my
dad b/c he lives a half hour away. With my mom who lives in Texas a relationship is somewhat harder to sustain. Although that is exactly what I struggle with. My desire is to have a close mother/daughter relationship. More to the point though is my desire for her to approve of me and my life.
So while my mom was in town she was going to make an effort to visit with us too. We both did in fact make efforts to visit and spend time together. Not trying to be selfish or pushy I just thankfully accepted whatever time she was willing to give, although my children were so delighted to spend time with her. (Something she wasn't aware of that, and also that they ask to pray for her regularly.)
My heart became even more saddened when I started to realize the major differences in our life styles and choices. I love my mom dearly and desire a close mother- daughter relationship. Knowing all the while that unless things change that desire will go unfulfilled.
It was on her last day she calls to let me know of her leaving and we kind words for the first 10 minutes. Then I allowed my flesh to seize the moment and I begin to say things that I felt were true, but consequently were hurtful and unkind. It was towards the end of our conversation that I noticed what our major issue/road block is in not having a close relationship. We both struggle with the attitude that our convictions are true and yet we look at each other and see a life not worthy of Christ or not fulfilling our own preconceived ideas. Knowing my approval was not towards her decision, she still looked for it. Funny thing, that while she was here I was looking for her approval on my life and my convictions.
Which leads me to some questions. How can two people believe to be living lives based on convictions from God, yet their lives are so opposite. Which one is right? Is it even acceptable to judge the others convictions as being from God? What is our guide in doing so? How do we love a person who seems to have no respect for how we are living, especially when we consider to be living a righteous life? How do we even continue to try to have a friendship or even a relationship with someone who's view on life is opposite of our own? When we feel our foundations are directly opposing one another's?
I will go ahead and try to answer some of my own rhetoric questions. The answer is the only way we can be sure we are a believer is by reading and living the Bible. I would say the one who is putting to practice what they are reading out of the Bible. Yes it is acceptable. In fact we are assured that we will find or be able to notice other believers by their love, fruits and actions.
The Bible should always be our guide. We are to do the same thing Jesus did while he was being crucified on the cross. Have plenty of forgiveness, even as the soldiers were mocking him Jesus continued to show love and forgiveness.
Lately I have been singing a new/old song to my sons. It is old b/c I use to sing it, but knew to them b/c they are just now learning it. It is : The wise man and the foolish man. One builds his house on the firm foundation. The other builds his house on the sand. If you are not building on firm foundation than your house will crash on it's sinking sand foundation.
Luke 46-49
46. "But why do you call Me `Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? 47. "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
48. "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
49. "But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.''
I was reading to my children the other day and was refreshed and reminded what Jesus said of "Who his family, mother and brothers really are". Luke 8: 20-21
20. And it was told Him by some, who said, "Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.''
21. But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.''
If you would like to be praying for our relationship to be where God wants it to be. Believing that God knows everything and exactly what we need. I would greatly appreciate it.

Playing Catch-Up!
First off, I would like to apologize for my absentee behavior. Although my reason for not posting (is explained in my post, "Heavy Heart") is understandable, it certainly isn't proper Blog Etiquette. Especially for most bloggers, a minimum of 2-3 post a day is proper Blog Etiquette. I have decided to play catch-up for not commenting on anything in the last several weeks of February.
In the weeks of my absence I was able to accomplish much. For starters, I have struggled with discipline. Not in my parenting, but in my scheduling. I needed to figure out how to stick to a routine or schedule that met my needs along with my children's. Praise the Lord for showing me just how to do that. I have implemented that in the past month to form a habit (anything done in a 21 day time frame) of being consistent. I guess it's our brains that need the structure and if we continue in a pattern of consistency then our brains are able to comprehend our actions either intentional or unintentional.
I have been reading from the New Testament to my five sometimes six children everyday (depends on if the baby is napping). So far I have missed only one day (yesterday). I have them sit for 20 minutes or more and read 1-3 chapters from the New Testament and now a chapter from Proverbs. That alone, the insight from Proverbs is enough to have me keeping writing and keeping your thoughts occupied for a long time. So much truth can be found in the Proverbs. We are currently in Luke chapter 8 and Proverbs 17.
What a blessing it has been to read to my children and simultaneously hear the Word myself. My goal in reading through the New Testament, is to teach my children to sit still, to be reverent to God and his word, and to show obedience to me when I have a need that needs to be met. So often as mother's we spend most of our days meeting everyone else's needs and not our own. Well this mom needs to have her needs met and the only way possible is to teach my children to help me met my needs, along with me meeting theirs too. It will also give us a closeness, which I believe is only possible through being in the word with others. Such as with, Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
No other book I know has that kind of power. Plus the Bible is my favorite book and is so applicable for shaping our lives.
This past week my dh and I have begun our work out program. It is a system we have owned and used before. It is called "Power 90" a work out system designed by Tony Horton. It is great to have a work out partner and makes the exercise much more bearable b/c of the support. What is great about the system is that it is only a 90 day commitment. It combines a cardio workout with a weight training workout that also includes 100 sit ups the first 45 days and 200 sit ups the last 45 days. If not a great way to loose weight, but a great way to tone up and get fit.
On top of that, I am trying to balance eating healthier and drinking a greater volume of water. I am hoping to strengthen and discipline my mind, body and spirit. By getting spiritually fit and physically fit my mind is all that is left to be shaped or to do the shaping.
This week I am being more active in my home-educating. I have decided to set goals in my teaching to help my child feel accomplished and enthusiastic about learning. Teaching my Autistic son has always been a creative challenge. I am positive and prepared to encourage his mind awakening. Along with my other 3 sons and 2 yr old daughter. Not leaving anyone out of the learning process. Even little baby Jehosheba is going to be challenged by strengthening her body and finding new toys and things to focus on.
This past week I have been doing lessons on Butterflies. We made a giant tissue paper butterfly and taped it to the wall. Learning 3 simple facts about the butterfly and about the different types of butterflies and the process of how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. My sons have been delighted in the activities and the projects that I am using to encourage their involvement in learning about the beautiful butterflies of God's creation.
One such activity was hand painting and foot painting in the shape of a butterfly. First I set up two foot buckets with a water proof pad underneath. Then I poured yellow paint into the lid of a disposable metal pie plate (round for the hands to fit into), then also two long plastic dishes big enough to press feet into. I poured turquoise paint into one and blue into the other. I set my children one by one at their little table and place their hands at or near the top of their paper, (both in yellow). Next one foot in blue and one in turquoise and upside down I place each foot situated to shape a butterfly. After they were done we soaked their feet and hands in the foot buckets. They loved it. I periodically soak my feet especially when I am pregnant. So being able to soak their feet like mom was a treat for them.
Trying to make learning exciting and fun. Also to showing my sons another side of their mom, the creative side.
I find it interesting how Jesus taught his disciples and how he made learning for them by seeing. He taught by using his words, but more so by his actions. Hence my other main objective , is to teaching my sons by showing them the example that will produce the life worthy of Jesus and his sacrifice for us on the cross.

That alone, the insight from Proverbs is enough to have me keeping writing and keeping your thoughts occupied for a long time. So much truth can be found in the Proverbs. We are currently in Luke chapter 8 and Proverbs 17.
What a blessing it has been to read to my children and simultaneously hear the Word myself. My goal in reading through the New Testament, is to teach my children to sit still, to be reverent to God and his word, and to show obedience to me when I have a need that needs to be met. So often as mother's we spend most of our days meeting everyone else's needs and not our own. Well this mom needs to have her needs met and the only way possible is to teach my children to help me met my needs, along with me meeting theirs too. It will also give us a closeness, which I believe is only possible through being in the word with others. Such as with, Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
No other book I know has that kind of power. Plus the Bible is my favorite book and is so applicable for shaping our lives.
This past week my dh and I have begun our work out program. It is a system we have owned and used before. It is called "Power 90" a work out system designed by Tony Horton. It is great to have a work out partner and makes the exercise much more bearable b/c of the support. What is great about the system is that it is only a 90 day commitment. It combines a cardio workout with a weight training workout that also includes 100 sit ups the first 45 days and 200 sit ups the last 45 days. If not a great way to loose weight, but a great way to tone up and get fit.
On top of that, I am trying to balance eating healthier and drinking a greater volume of water. I am hoping to strengthen and discipline my mind, body and spirit. By getting spiritually fit and physically fit my mind is all that is left to be shaped or to do the shaping.
This week I am being more active in my home-educating. I have decided to set goals in my teaching to help my child feel accomplished and enthusiastic about learning. Teaching my Autistic son has always been a creative challenge. I am positive and prepared to encourage his mind awakening. Along with my other 3 sons and 2 yr old daughter. Not leaving anyone out of the learning process. Even little baby Jehosheba is going to be challenged by strengthening her body and finding new toys and things to focus on.
This past week I have been doing lessons on Butterflies. We made a giant tissue paper butterfly and taped it to the wall. Learning 3 simple facts about the butterfly and about the different types of butterflies and the process of how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. My sons have been delighted in the activities and the projects that I am using to encourage their involvement in learning about the beautiful butterflies of God's creation.
One such activity was hand painting and foot painting in the shape of a butterfly. First I set up two foot buckets with a water proof pad underneath. Then I poured yellow paint into the lid of a disposable metal pie plate (round for the hands to fit into), then also two long plastic dishes big enough to press feet into. I poured turquoise paint into one and blue into the other. I set my children one by one at their little table and place their hands at or near the top of their paper, (both in yellow). Next one foot in blue and one in turquoise and upside down I place each foot situated to shape a butterfly. After they were done we soaked their feet and hands in the foot buckets. They loved it. I periodically soak my feet especially when I am pregnant. So being able to soak their feet like mom was a treat for them.
Trying to make learning exciting and fun. Also to showing my sons another side of their mom, the creative side.
I find it interesting how Jesus taught his disciples and how he made learning for them by seeing. He taught by using his words, but more so by his actions. Hence my other main objective , is to teaching my sons by showing them the example that will produce the life worthy of Jesus and his sacrifice for us on the cross.

Need a delicious Cookie recipe, My family's favorite.
I have made this recipe 4 times now and it just seems to be better each time. Each time I make it I improve on the time before. I think now my adjustments have perfected the recipe and made these cookies almost as good as in the store bought version.
The cookies referred to are " Oatmeal Whoopie Pies" or "Li'l Debbie cookies"
4 cups packed Brown sugar
1 1/2 cups butter or margarine
4 eggs
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
5 cups flour
4 cups of oatmeal *(i use quick oats and I grind the oats fine down to an oatmeal flour like consistancy, you can still see that it is oats.)
6 Tbsp Boiling Water
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
Cream filling:
4 Tbsp flour
4 Tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups of Crisco
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 egg whites whipped and beaten well
Mix all of the cookie ingredients in a mixer and cream sugar and butter and eggs together. Then gradually add salt, cinnamon, baking powder and flour and oatmeal. I transfer the dough to a big bowl and use a wooden spoon or large scrapper to mix and fold in the flour and oats into the cream mixture. Add the vanilla and in a separate mixing cup put the 4 tsp (1 Tbsp and 1 tsp) in and add your 6 Tbsp of boiling water. Then after everything is mixed poor the hot baking soda mixture over the dough and stir till everything is wet and mixed thoroughly. * Instead of scooping the mixture out onto cookie sheets, I flour my counter surface and roll out a portion of dough and cut cookies out like biscuits. I have found that it makes the cookie look more like the original and it stretches the amount made. By doing this I get another dozen out of the recipe. Now it depends on how flat you roll them and what size cutter you use. I use a 3 in cookie cutter and roll the dough out about 1/4 to 1/3 inches thick. If you roll them to thin they will be crunchy and not soft. Bake them in a 350 degree oven for 12 minutes.
Cream filling:
Whip 2 egg whites in a mixer or with a hand held mixer and set aside. In a separate bowl add all other ingredients and mix well. Combine both mixtures in a mixer and mix thoroughly. Should be thick and creamy looking. If it looks to wet from the milk add a 1/2 cup at a time of powder sugar.
* since I make at least a dozen more by rolling the dough out, I double the filling recipe. After all who doesn't like extra filling. (Even when I made them the orginal way I still ran out of filling.)

Heavy Heart.
Have you ever had a burden on your heart that seemed so difficult to let go of? Here are a few thoughts that I have concerning my burden, which I have labeled as my "Heavy Heart".
This has not been any easy post for me to write.
A year ago my parents became legally divorced. (I say this from my perspective of what I believe the Bible says to be true, in Mathew 19:6 "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.") My parents were married for 38 yrs. My mom was the one who pursued the divorce. It has been very tough for my dad to handle. A complete life change and at his age, one that he was not willing or wanting to expect. My mom on the other hand has adapted quite well. She is living a life that she is very pleased with. A life without spousal restrictions, where she is in complete control of what she does. Only herself, my sister and some friends to keep her accountable. Although the changes in her life seem to make her appear happier and quite possibly she is, but we learn through Paul's writings that we should be content "No matter" our circumstances. This thought came from a man who spent many nights in a jail cell and probably praising God all the while.
Although I have to admit it is not easy being in situations that challenge your very nature. It is through those challenges though, that we are able to see the merciful hand of God who seems to walk (or even carry at times) us through. I believe God allows those challenges for us to see how amazing and magnificent he is and can be if we only rely on HIM...
Many of us have either heard or know of families that have been divided due to a divorce. It is true about how children bear the weight and burden of the split. Emotionally children have attachment issues and such. Very rarely do we hear about the spiritual concerns. The most common concern is the higher rate of divorce among children of divorced couples. Although the rate of divorce is already high in the church as much so as it is outside the church. Why is that you might say? Primarily due to the lack of living out the word in their daily lives. The hardest thing to understand about divorce is that the two people who love us for some reason can't seem to love each other. The other sad thing about divorce is what it teaches children. Forgiveness isn't important in relationships, just allow bitterness to have it's way and if life gets to hard just give up and forget to have faith in God. With attitudes like that it is easy for children to question how powerful is God anyway. If we can trust Him to heal our broken marriages or anything else for that matter, than how can we trust him to keep his word and return for us someday.
I am like no other child who's parents have been divorced. Even after a year it is still not easy to get use to. I feel stuck at times. Stuck like in between a rock and a hard place. I am close to my
dad b/c he lives a half hour away. With my mom who lives in Texas a relationship is somewhat harder to sustain. Although that is exactly what I struggle with. My desire is to have a close mother/daughter relationship. More to the point though is my desire for her to approve of me and my life.
So while my mom was in town she was going to make an effort to visit with us too. We both did in fact make efforts to visit and spend time together. Not trying to be selfish or pushy I just thankfully accepted whatever time she was willing to give, although my children were so delighted to spend time with her. (Something she wasn't aware of that, and also that they ask to pray for her regularly.)
My heart became even more saddened when I started to realize the major differences in our life styles and choices. I love my mom dearly and desire a close mother- daughter relationship. Knowing all the while that unless things change that desire will go unfulfilled.
It was on her last day she calls to let me know of her leaving and we kind words for the first 10 minutes. Then I allowed my flesh to seize the moment and I begin to say things that I felt were true, but consequently were hurtful and unkind. It was towards the end of our conversation that I noticed what our major issue/road block is in not having a close relationship. We both struggle with the attitude that our convictions are true and yet we look at each other and see a life not worthy of Christ or not fulfilling our own preconceived ideas. Knowing my approval was not towards her decision, she still looked for it. Funny thing, that while she was here I was looking for her approval on my life and my convictions.
Which leads me to some questions. How can two people believe to be living lives based on convictions from God, yet their lives are so opposite. Which one is right? Is it even acceptable to judge the others convictions as being from God? What is our guide in doing so? How do we love a person who seems to have no respect for how we are living, especially when we consider to be living a righteous life? How do we even continue to try to have a friendship or even a relationship with someone who's view on life is opposite of our own? When we feel our foundations are directly opposing one another's?
I will go ahead and try to answer some of my own rhetoric questions. The answer is the only way we can be sure we are a believer is by reading and living the Bible. I would say the one who is putting to practice what they are reading out of the Bible. Yes it is acceptable. In fact we are assured that we will find or be able to notice other believers by their love, fruits and actions.
The Bible should always be our guide. We are to do the same thing Jesus did while he was being crucified on the cross. Have plenty of forgiveness, even as the soldiers were mocking him Jesus continued to show love and forgiveness.
Lately I have been singing a new/old song to my sons. It is old b/c I use to sing it, but knew to them b/c they are just now learning it. It is : The wise man and the foolish man. One builds his house on the firm foundation. The other builds his house on the sand. If you are not building on firm foundation than your house will crash on it's sinking sand foundation.
Luke 46-49
46. "But why do you call Me `Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? 47. "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
48. "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
49. "But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.''
I was reading to my children the other day and was refreshed and reminded what Jesus said of "Who his family, mother and brothers really are". Luke 8: 20-21
20. And it was told Him by some, who said, "Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.''
21. But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.''
If you would like to be praying for our relationship to be where God wants it to be. Believing that God knows everything and exactly what we need. I would greatly appreciate it.

What is True Love. (part 2, my continued thoughts.)
When I began this post I meant to write so many other thoughts along with the ones already posted. Unfortunately I was preoccupied and unable to complete and continue on as planned. So for those of you who remember watching a TV program as a child and at the end of the episode, seeing the phrase appear on the screen, "To Be Continued". Count your self either lucky or blessed with great timing and fortunate to catch my, "To Be Continued thoughts on What is True Love."
I have been struggling with this and other thoughts that I will share shortly. I am referring to this line of thinking as to what does a Christian person consider is " True Love". As for the world's view I am sure we all know the angle that they have choosen to follow. More commonly known is the world's view on " True Love" as opposite of a Christians perspective. Most people may consider "True Love" is what they feel or have with their spouse or child/children. Which is pretty odd considering the rate of divorce and the decline in generational population, (referring to each passing generation having smaller families and less children overall. ) Not to affirm that those kinds of love aren't important and valuable, but their is one far more greater and valuable.
That is the Love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus.
Of any person who has ever existed, Jesus exemplifies what "True Love" is all about. Remember what Jesus asked Peter, "Do you love me", Peter's reply was "Yes, Lord" and Jesus answers, " then feed my sheep". Ask your self How did Jesus want Peter to show his "True Love" to Jesus? Yet what about this other phrase we so often hear and know " If you love me than keep my commandments. What are those commandments you say? Well of course they are the Ten commandments and then on top of those the nearly 50 commandments Jesus mentions in the 4 gospels. As most of us already know the greatest 2 commandments are; Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, while we are also suppose to love our neighbor as our self. (In some cases that would include or enemies as well.)
My main reason for this topic was to understand the purpose and reason why Jesus was born a virgin and followed his Heavenly Father's plan to die for all mankind. In one word, Sacrifice! It was Jesus sol purpose and desire to please his Heavenly Father and give his life for the "ransom of many.

He paid a debt he did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay, I needed someone to wash my sins away, and now I sing a brand new song, Amazing Grace all day long, Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay.
That sacrifice that Jesus paid is far more valuable to me than anything I will ever own and or ever want to own. Giving of one's self is one of the best gifts we can give. Especially if it is receiving the Best gift God could ever give, His precious son Jesus.

What is True Love?
This has been a thought of mine for awhile. I thought about writing about this for Valentines Day. As Christians everyday should be a day in which we share and show love to one another regularly and not just on holidays.
Recently I have been dealing with some things centered around the concept of "What is true love". Many of us are married and may consider our mates to be our "true love". That is what the world tells us. In fact the world has various views about true love. For many true love doesn't require a commitment. Or if it does, it is something with an attachment and any easy way out it things become uncertain.
For me however I have a very strong thought and opinion about love and true unyielding "Agape" type love. For those not familiar with the word Agape, it is a love that God has for us, also a description of a Christian love feast, a spontaneous altruistic love.

Mathew 13: 3-23 (Referred to in What a busy week post.)
Mathew 13 Jesus tells and explains the parable of the 4 soils.
3. Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4. "And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
5. "Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
6. "But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.
7. "And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.
8. "But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
9. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!''
10. And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?''

Trying to not let the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches (the second one not as much of a challenge as the first, for me that is,) choke or steal the seed which was sown . Probably the hardest one to struggle with , since most of us are or tend to be concerned about our surroundings and what others think of us and how we are treated by those who are in the World. Thankfully and praising the Lord for his continued instruction of my heart, soul and life. I serve the one and only true God. The God with whom nothing is impossible.

What a busy week!
Wow. I can't believe I went all week with out posting anything. It has been a busy week.
For starters our car needed some repairing done. We had a scheduled Tuesday appointment. My dad stopped by for a visit on Tuesday. My children love to see and visit with "Pa Pa". My sweet husband had to work on Wednesday afternoon. I woke up to a bouquet of red roses on the pillow next to me on Thursday and a sweet loving card that expressed my dear husbands feelings and concerns for me. (That was a suprise!) Tried to get the house cleaned for company coming on Saturday. Company came on Saturday and we went sledding in 10 degrees weather. (Could hear the wind howling at us.) Had a fun but chilling time. Came home after about 45minutes or so of sledding and mega calorie burning, to a bowl of hot potato soup and crackers. Yummy. I made my friend a wonderful assortment of cookies. One in particular that has been getting many tasty replies. A version of the "Little Debbie" snack cakes, called "Whoopie Pies". An oatmeal cookie sand which with a creamy filling center. I have made this recipe 3 times in the last 4-5 weeks. My last variation has been the best. I will post the recipe and my techniques this week....
Will try to be less busy this week, although I hear this quote quite often when I am out and today was not exception. "Boy you've got your hands full". So if I happen to miss a few days just keep me in your prayers and know that I am letting the Lord work things out in my heart, life and spirit so I can be of some valuable use for Him.
One more thought about our reading from Mathew. We read about the four soils awhile back. Well this week I had one day that was tough. Emotionally I couldn't shake something that had/has been a struggle of mine for most of my life. I realized this week it was and is b/c I am focusing on the issue and "the cares of this world" and possible could lead to my seed being stolen. I am thankful and overjoyed to have this revealed to me by the Spirit. Of all things it was while I was praying and washing the dishes....Praise be to God for answering us in ways we most dearly need it.
Reminding everyone that God is so Good and not to underestimate his awesomeness.

What a week! / Menu Ideas.
Well we had a pretty eventful week. For starters our Alaskan weather is living up to one of its familiar names " the frigid north". This week we experienced tempts anywhere from -5 to -15 below zero. That was of course at night and around the Anchorage area. Where as during the day we had highs like 5 to 10 above. We are actually thankful for those temps. Other places further north are not so warm, ha ha ha... In the interior, Fairbanks and Tok had tempts from -30 to -60 below zero. Due to the extreme cold tempts our station wagon was not wanting to perform well. We had to get our second station wagon running, and that took a little work. First we had to uncover it from all the buried snow. Then we had to get the battery working, ended up buying a new one. Finally we had to air up one of the tires due to a slow leak. We tried to figure out where the leak is but have yet to find it. In a few days we may have to get the valve stem replaced and sealed. Hopefully the weather will warm up a bit and we can get our other wagon fixed and running as well.
Had a great time reading out of Mathew this week. Here are a few verses from the chapters of Mathew that we read from this week. Mathew 10 : 39:" Whoever find his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Mathew 11:28-30 28. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'' Mathew 12:36-37 and 48-50; 36. "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37. "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.'' 48. But He answered and said to the one who told Him, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?''
49. And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!
50. "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.''

32. And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God.''
I enjoy reading the parables that Jesus taught the disciples and others with. There is nothing more intriguing than hearing a story that has a valuable message to it. I know many, (myself included) who learn better by someone else's mistakes. Although some of the best lessons are learned from making our own mistakes, the parables are there for us to understand so we don't do exactly that.
Something about the parable of the four soils just really speaks to my heart. I think it is b/c we may know of others around us who are described as one of those soils. It is actually very saddening. I wish everyone would except the Lord and his word like the last soil mentioned. The one who received the seed and produced an abundant crop. I pray daily that my children become soil like that and ready for the harvest.
I think for many of us we can relate to Peter. His life reflected some flaws, but he certainly didn't lack motivation and desire to please the Lord. He certainly of all the disciples had a behavior many of us can understand, if not emphasize with. I consider Peter and his errors and later his faithfulness unto death, as being an example which we can learn from. Possibly even to tap into as to challenge us, to grow our faith. Learning these experiences of Peter's helps us to visualize the human aspects of our own walk w/ the Lord. Peter's own errors gave him plenty of ways to relate to others who were weak in their faith in the beginning also. Of course learning from his errors made him the successful apostle, preaching, teaching and baptizing others into the Kingdom of GOD.
After all he may have made a few mistakes, but through it all he remained obedient and "Fed the Sheep".
My menu for this week: February 11-15
Monday- Spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread.
Tuesday- Tilapia(fish) w/ rosemary and garlic seasoning and long grain and white rice w/ green beans.
Wednsday- Potato Soup w/ ham pieces and corn and cornbread w/ creamed corn inside.
Thursday- Turkey Stroganoff and egg noodles and mixed veggies and rolls (homemade croissants). (Cream of mushroom soup added to browned ground turkey and chopped onions and milk. Then mixed together w/ cooked egg noodles,( about 2-3 cups cooked noodles).
Friday- Pizza homemade of course. Made with dough from our bread machine.
Prayers for this week; may the Bible readings be more encouraging to my spirit, and a learning tool for my children, prayer for a family who are going through many struggles, that our visit and time spent w/grandma (my mom flying in from Texas) is a blessing to all of us, that our friends little boy will begin to heal from his broken hip (little Issac), the hearts and spirits of those who need to refresh their spirits with that of the Lords and that we all shed our robes of pride and embrace the garment of humility.

Getting to know you, (pertinent facts about myself).
As you can probably tell I like to read my bible and talk about it/or write about it. I love sharing what I have learned about God's word with others. I also especially love to pray for others. I find that when I focus my thoughts and concerns on others mine own situations are less of a worry to me. I am also able to find the peace about my own problems when I consider the problems others are facing. It helps me to see what true struggles are all about. I may consider my struggles as being real b/c they are happening to me. All around the world others are struggling with health issues, poverty, lack of food, even persecuted for their faith. Praying for others is blessing to me in my walk and relationship w/ the Lord. The bible does mention in several places that thinking of others is better than thinking of our selves.
Of course I am a mother and a wife. I enjoy the rewards and perks of being both. My days are busy from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. Some days seem more restful than others but I am also learning to relax more. I appreciate my family more when I take the time and consider how blessed I truly am.
Here are some pertinent facts about me:
I like making things for others, ie..quilts, food/dinners, blankets, afgans, clothes for my children, cinnamon rolls, and homemade goodies.
Unclean floors and counter tops are my petpeves.
I love playing word games, like boggle or scrabble.
I am a night owl.
I am a chocoholic, anything chocolate even ice cream, although I am lactose intolerant.
I love fabric, all kinds, especially corduroy and flannel.
I know how to crochet, quilt, cross stitch, needle punch, stencile, caligriaphy, scrap book, sew, bake and cook.
I procrastinate at putting laundry away.
My favorite food is Chinese.
I was not nursed as a child, but have nursed all of my children.
My family traveled a lot due to my father being in the military.
I have lived in Alaska off and on for 28 yrs +.
I met my husband at a college Inner Varsity Bible Study group.
My children all have Hebrew names from the Bible for two reasons, I like the originality of the names and our last name is so common, (Smith).
I laugh at my own jokes.
I was delighted when I realized two months into my marriage that one day I will be my favorite apple, a Granny Smith.
I was born on Memorial day in 1972, but memorial day is not the same date every year.
Before I had children, I had the memory of an elephant.
Somethings I have realized to be a truth about G0d through the years. He never ceases to amaze me. His complete knowledge of what we need before we even pray is astounding. Even though I may know a lot about the Bible, (I am married to a minister) there is still plenty for me to learn. My faith has grown exceedingly more since I have become a mother. Especially with each one of my pregnancies. God always seems to show me more about Himself through the nine months of pregnancy. Some of my favorite passages are : John 14 and 15, the whole book of James, Malachi, Psalms and Proverbs. Reading the Bible always puts my heart and spirit at peace.
My sole desire for this blog was to share my life and testimony through God's word to help encourage and edify others. I know through prayer and faith in God anything is possible.
John 15 :1-23 1. "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2. "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3. "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4. "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge Take it to the Lord in prayer. do they friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He'll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.

I was born on Memorial day in 1972, but memorial day is not the same date every year.
Before I had children, I had the memory of an elephant.
Somethings I have realized to be a truth about G0d through the years. He never ceases to amaze me. His complete knowledge of what we need before we even pray is astounding. Even though I may know a lot about the Bible, (I am married to a minister) there is still plenty for me to learn. My faith has grown exceedingly more since I have become a mother. Especially with each one of my pregnancies. God always seems to show me more about Himself through the nine months of pregnancy. Some of my favorite passages are : John 14 and 15, the whole book of James, Malachi, Psalms and Proverbs. Reading the Bible always puts my heart and spirit at peace.
My sole desire for this blog was to share my life and testimony through God's word to help encourage and edify others. I know through prayer and faith in God anything is possible.
John 15 :1-23 1. "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2. "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3. "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4. "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6. "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

My favorite hymnal song is : What a friend we have in Jesus.
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All b/c we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge Take it to the Lord in prayer. do they friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He'll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.
Praying that we all learn to lay our burdens down and carry His yoke instead.

Master Builder.....What are you building your life on?
Psalms is a great reference to see the heart of God. We know that David is the author of the Psalms. David was a man after God's own heart. So if we can read any one of the 150 chapters of Psalms we can get a glimpse of the Heart of God.
Lets look at one of my favorites; Psalms 127
1Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for he grants sleep to those he loves. 3Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
There is a comfort in knowing the LORD is in the construction business. Not so much like the constructors of today. He just doesn't build buildings and houses. But great vessels for his usage. God builds families, lives that are formed together constructed for one purpose. His purpose. There is NO GREATER joy or comfort than to know God has a greater purpose for our lives and means to use us in any and all ways for his glory!
Consider why in verse 4 and 5 it refers to "sons as a arrow in the hand of a warrior" a tool that is of great importance for serving in the Army of God. Then "Blessed is the man whose quiver is full", a quiver is a basket or bundle holder which stores the spar arrows. As if to mean that a man needs many arrows for the task that is expected of him. If a man is blessed when his quiver is full, then how many arrows does it take to have a full quiver?
Does 1 qualify as a full quiver, probably not since one is singular. Which clearly the verse is meaning arrows in the plural sense. So if sons are like arrows in the hand of a warrior, what about daughters? I know that the idea of having more than 2 0r 3 children seems too much in todays mindset. But if we are believers called to a higher purpose, than we should follow God's lead NO MATTER the cost.
I know several families who have contemplated this exact issue. The final conclusion was to follow God in whatever size family he has designed for them. This decision is difficult if you do not know how God will provide the means to help care for and provide for your family. That is where faith w/out fear comes in to play.
This week I read Mathew 6 to my children. Concerning worrying about what we will wear or eat. God cares for the birds w/ out the birds sowing or reaping. Then about the flowers that are clothed by God, they don't toil or spin. Yet even King Solomon in all his splendor was not dressed as fine as the flowers of the field. Yet we have so little faith. What are we suppose to be concerned about? What are we to be seeking? Things that will not last or fade away? NO. We are to , Mathew 6: 33 " Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you."
Realizing that what is the most important thing to be chasing after is God's kingdom and his righteousness. Not the shallow material things we think are worthy of our time and effort. It is Mathew 6 :19-21 "Do not store for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Have you ever had anything stolen? How do you feel when you realize someone consider an item of yours worth something enough for them that they had to take it from you to have. Possessions no mater the item are not eternal. Things are not eternal, but a person can be. Sometimes we hold our valuables to close, and our relationships we throw away. We should be holding people close as in relationships or restoring relationships. A person has far more value to God than any possession.
My children learned this week that Jesus died on the cross for them (my sons are 6 & 4). It is so precious and touching to see their innocent understanding that Jesus bled for them. B/c of their sins Jesus died on the cross. A sacrifice that we do not deserve. It is really awing to witness little "arrows" sharpening before your eyes.
After all did Jesus count the cost when he died on the cross for us? He fulfilled his purpose to His Father by surrendering his life completely. I am convinced that If God is calling me to follow w/out fear and give my life unselfishly then so be it. I am more than delighted to obey even if it makes me and my family different from those around us. There is a higher price to pay if obedience is ignored.
My husband likes to say, "Obedience is Life". He couldn't be more correct. Obedience to God is Eternal Life. Are you obey God completely? Do you have Eternal Life? Ask me how and I will gladly point you in the right direction. Pointing you towards Heaven, that is.

What is in a Name? Part 2
Just a few more thoughts on the name of Jesus.
I would like to share some ideas of names of Jesus from of devotional book I have. The book is " At the name of Jesus" 365 meditations of the name of Jesus, by Sarah Hornsby.
Here a just a few names she lists in her book:

As you read this list you may find that in times throughout your life you have called Jesus one of these names. You may have even seen him perform or characterize himself in one of these descriptions of who he is. Of course there are many more and many we could probably think of our selves. (Which might be a good thing to do sometime. Make a list of the names of Jesus, or better yet if you have children have them think of some names of Jesus.)
Calling Jesus other names beside the common everyday ones are just another way we can recognize how much more powerful and complete he truly is.
Of course the world has there own names they give Jesus. None of which are on my list. Neither are any of the world's names worthy of his name. It just shows us how people in the world disrespect and dishonor the name of Jesus. Too frequent for my ears. As believers though it is our job or shall I say "Purpose" to encourage the correct usage of Jesus' name!
I would like to share my children's names and definitions with you. Solely b/c I love their names and b/c just sharing their names is a testimony of God's word.
Phinehas Caleb- Phinehas was a High Priest. He was the son of Eleazar ( the son of Aaron). He was credited for turning God's anger away from the Israelite people.
Numbers 25:7 -13 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, saw this, he left he assembly, took a spear in his hand and followed the Israelite into the tent. He drove the spear through both of them- through the Israelite and the woman's body. Then the plague against the Israelites was stopped; but those who died in the plague numbered 24,000.
The Lord said to Moses,"Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites; for he was zealous as I am for my honor among them, so that in my zeal I did not put an end to them. Therefore tell him I am making a covenant of peace with him. He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, b/c he was zealous for the honor of his God and made atonement for the Israelites."
Caleb was one of the good spies who were sent to check out the land of Canaan.
Shaphan Joshua- was a scribe in the court of King Josiah. He was credited to turning the heart of the King back to the Lord after reading to him from the scrolls. 2 Kings 22 , Actually the whole chapter is only 20 verses long. It is really informative concerning how Shaphan read the book of the law and then read it again to the King. (It just shows us that read God's law is a very powerful thing.) After Shaphan read to the King, the King tore his clothes b/c he was so disgraced by the generations before them who weren't living according to the law of God.
Joshua was the other good spy and who has his own book about how God used him to lead the Israelite people.
Ezra Michael- Ezra of course was a prophet with his own book. He lead the second group of exiles back and was unashamed to speak the truth to the people to encourage them to live righteous lives. Actually the best reference to Ezra isn't in his book. But is found in Nehemiah 8:5-6 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him b/c he was standing above them, and as he opend it, the people all stood up. Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people lifted their hands and responded, Amen! Amen! Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
Michael was an angel of the Lord who was sent to speak as God's messenger.
Othniel Roman- Othniel was a Judge. Actually he was the first judge of Israel. He ruled for 40 yrs. His story is found in Judges 3:1-11 he was Caleb's brother and also married Caleb's daughter b/c he conquered an enemy and the prize was Caleb's daughter. (Judges 1:12-13).
Roman is name that means strength and there is a book in the NT called "Romans".
Casiphia Joy- Casiphia was the name of a town in the book of Ezra. Ezra 8:17 and I sent them to Iddo, the leader in Casiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his kinsmen, the temple servants in Casiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.
Joy is a fruit of the spirit. (One many people seem to be lacking in.)
Jehosheba Peace- Jehosheba was the daughter to Athaliah and the sister to King Ahaziah. She was married to a priest named Jehoiada. In 2 Chronicles 22:10-12 when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to destroy the whole royal family of the house of Judah. But Jehosheba the daughter of King Jehoram, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes who were about to be murdered and put him and his nurse in a bedroom. B/c Jehosheba the daughter of the King Jehoram and wife to Jehoiada the priest the sister to Ahaziah, she hid the child from Athaliah so he could not be killed. He remained hidden in the temple of God for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.
Peace is a fruit of the spirit.(Exactly what her personality is peaceful.)
Names are very important. If it were not so God would not have so many in which we can use to call out to him. I for one do have my absolute favorite. It is found in Exodus 3 : 14 God says to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you."
Above all Jesus is God's son and they are one in all. So if God is "I AM" then so is Jesus. I am so glad to be serving the one true God. The "I AM GOD of all things " God. Praise be to God the Most High!
